Authorities in Westchester are investigating the circumstances of a shooting that left a man hospitalized. The incident happened on Wednesday, June 5 in the area of South Fulton Avenue and Edison Avenue in Mount Vernon, where a man was found with a gunshot wound to his left abdomen, according to Mount Vernon City officials. A bridge replacement project is causing a road closure at a busy intersection in Westchester that will last over a month. The closure resulted from a project commenced by the MTA that will replace the South Fulton Avenue Bridge in Mount Vernon, according to Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard. Concerns about the structural integrity of two overpasses in a Westchester County city are prompting city officials to immediately reroute traffic because of the danger they pose to residents. Police Investigate Fatal Shooting At Vigil For Murdered Man In Westchester
A man was shot and killed overnight while attending a vigil for a victim who also suffered a fatal gunshot wound in Westchester last October, police said. Officers from the Mount Vernon Police Department responded to the area of 129 Monroe Ave. at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, where there was a report of a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, first responders found Mount Vernon resident Jeremy Logan, age 32, on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. ID Released For Victim Of Fatal Westchester Shooting
The identity of a man shot dead while sitting inside a vehicle in Westchester has been released. Warren Clahar, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found Saturday, Oct. 24, shot to death while was sitting in his vehicle on South Fulton Avenue, according to News 12 Westchester. Police are still investigating the homicide, but told News 12, that while on the scene, they arrested two other people for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
