Motorists are being advised that double-lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 684 over a five-day span during the day. The northbound and southbound closures will be between Exit 3 (Route 22 in Armonk) and Exit 6 (Route 35 in Katonah), Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while crews perform maintenance activities, weather permitting. Police in North Castle were called in to help in attempting to track down an erratic driver on Route 128 in Armonk who gave a scare to fellow motorists before speeding off. Officers from the North Castle Police Department received a report shortly after 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, from a caller at Business Park Drive who stated that a driver in a Jeep on Route 128 was speeding, passing other vehicles and going through stop signs in the area. Separate I-684 Crashes Snarl Evening Commute
This story has been updated. Separate crashes caused stop-and-go delays on I-684 during the Tuesday evening commute. A crash reported at 6 p.m. at Route 22 (Exit 3) in Armonk led to stop-and-go traffic back to Route 120 (Exit 2). An earlier crash caused stop-and-go delays on northbound I-684 at the junction of I-84 during part of the commute. The crash, reported at 4:30 p.m. in Brewster, caused gridlock back to Hardscrabble Road. Delays of 20 minutes or more were reported.
