Sam Ash To Close All Locations, Including Westchester Store, After 100 Years In Business
The largest family-owned chain of musical instrument stores in the nation has announced it will be closing all its locations.
Sam Ash Music was founded in 1924, has locations in more than a dozen states, and is headquartered on Long Island, in Hicksville.
It currently has 27 stores, including five in New York (White Plains, Carle Place, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Forest Hills), two in New Jersey (in Springfield and Cherry Hill), two in Pennsylvania (in Philadelphia and King of Prussia), one in Connecticut (in New Haven), and one in Virginia (in Richmond).

Armonk natives Gavin Javorsky and Sean Siegel, who are currently seniors at Byram Hills High School, committed to colleges during a ceremonial signing day ceremony in the school's lecture hall on Wednesday, Nov. 9, according to the Byram Hills Central School District.

Dr. Paul D. Koors, Westchester Native, Dies Unexpectedly At 38
Dr. Paul Daniel Koors, 38, a native of Westchester and resident of Bethel in Fairfield County died on Tuesday, Aug. 28 of sudden heart failure.
Dr. Koors was born on Dec. 5, 1979, in Irvington, the son of Paul and Patricia Koors, MD.
He graduated from the Hackley School, attended Bucknell University and graduated from Brooklyn College before going to medical school at The Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
He completed his residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of Virginia in 2017.
Dr. Koors currently was practicing in Danbury.
