Alert Issued For Hudson Valley Woman Who's Been Missing For More Than A Month Police in the Hudson Valley are asking the public for help locating a missing woman who has not been seen in more than a month. In Orange County, the Port Jervis City Police Department is attempting to locate Brittany Hendershot, age 21, who was reported as a missing person by her mother on Tuesday, July 5.  Hendershot was last seen by her mother on or around Thursday, June 23, and spoke with her over the telephone on Friday, June 24, police said. Area Woman Saved By Officers After Intentionally Driving Into River During Chase, Police Say A Hudson Valley woman who took police on a high-speed chase was saved by the officers who had been attempting to stop her after she intentionally crashed into a river, police say. The incident began around 7:49 p.m., Monday, June 21, in western Orange County. Port Jervis Officer Andrew Dillinger was conducting speed enforcement on East Main Street near the Port Jervis Middle School when he observed a gray Chrysler sedan driving 50 miles an hour in a 30 per hour zone on East Main Street. Man Charged With Heroin Overdose Death Of Hudson Valley Man A 28-year-old was arrested in connection with the overdose death of a 30-year-old man in Orange County over the weekend. New York State Police and officers from the Port Jervis City Police Department arrested Patrick Shevlin, 28, of Montague in Sussex County, New Jersey and charged him with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance in association with the death, said Port Jervis Chief of Police William Worden.
