Ex-Cuomo Aide From South Salem Has Prison Surrender Date Postponed
A former top aide to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo will not be reporting to jail on March 1 as he continues to fight his conviction on corruption charges. Joseph Percoco, a South Salem resident, was convicted of accepting $300,000 in bribes from an energy company last year and was sentenced to six years in prison. He was scheduled to report to prison on March 1, but a court has ruled that he can stay a free man as he continues to appeal the conviction. State Judge Asks For Meeting On Edgemont Becoming A Village, 2nd Lawsuit
A state judge handling the Town of Greenburgh's litigation with Edgemont residents over their desire to create a new village has called for a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 13. In the meantime, the town has filed a notice of appeal to protect its interests until there is a clear indication of how to proceed, according to Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner. Illegal Immigrant Loses Appeal In Wife's Christmas Eve Murder In Mahopac
An illegal immigrant from Ecuador who was convicted of brutally murdering his teenage wife in Mahopac on Christmas Eve in 2010 has lost an appeal of his conviction. Paul Amay, now 32, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Nov. 2011 for killing 19-year-old Mahopac High School grad Gloria Zhingri in an apartment attached to her parents home.
