ID Released For Woman Killed In Fairfield County SUV Crash
A woman who was killed in a single-vehicle crash after her SUV left the roadway and hit a stone wall in Fairfield County has been identified by police. Serena Bechtel, age 52, was killed Tuesday, July 13 while driving on Lake Avenue in Greenwich when her 2013 Chevy Suburban left the road and struck a wall and a tree, said Lt. John Slusarz of the Greenwich Police. Bechtel, a resident of Greenwich, was pronounced dead at the scene. Greenwich Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the crash. A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash after her SUV left the roadway and hit a stone wall in Fairfield County, said authorities. The fatal crash, which killed a 52-year-old, took place Tuesday, July 13, on Lake Avenue in Greenwich. A man from Westchester has been charged after he was found slumped over in his vehicle on the side of Merritt Parkway, according to police. Greenwich Police say they responded to the area of Merritt Parkway northbound near exit 29 (Lave Avenue) on a report of a driver slumped over the wheel on the side of the road on Sunday, April 7 around 11:45 p.m. Officers say they located a silver Honda with heavy front end damage traveling south on Lake Avenue near Old Mill Road.
