Slippery Morning Commute Expected As Snow Will Overspread Region
Much of the region will see accumulating snowfall and a slippery morning commute as a new round of snow arrives overnight. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for New York City and Long Island from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 where up to 3 inches of snowfall accumulation is possible during that time. Areas north of NYC and Long Island could see 1 to 2 inches of snowfall. New Potent Storm System Will Bring Rain Throughout Area, Snow To Parts Of Region
A week that began with a big storm accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds that caused power outages will end with another potent system that will push through the region. Unlike the storm that hit the area on Monday, Nov. 30, this one has the potential to bring a mix of snow and rain north of I-84 in New York and Connecticut and accumulating snowfall in areas farther north and inland. Sharp Drop In Temps Will Be Followed By Rare Halloween Blue Moon, Time To Fall Back
After a mixed bag of precipitation winds down, there will be a sharp drop in temperatures leading into the "Fall Back" Halloween weekend. Generally, about 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is expected for parts of the region where there has not been accumulating snow. Snowfall accumulation of between 1 to 3 inches is possible in some spots north of I-84 in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
