Watervliet, located in Albany County, ranks number eight on the top ten best markets for first-time homebuyers in 2023, according to Realtor.com. The real estate website said it ranked 659 cities and towns with populations of more than 5,000 that are located within the 100 largest metro areas. 2 Westchester County Cities On List Of Most Expensive Places In NY Metro Area, Report Says Several cities in the region are among the most expensive cities in the region to rent in, a new report says.  In Westchester County, both White Plains and Yonkers appear on the list of most expensive cities in the New York Metropolitan Area, according to a report from Monday, Nov. 7 by Zumper.  White Plains ranks fourth on the list with a $2,590 monthly one-bedroom rent, and Yonkers ranks tenth on the list with a $1,900 monthly one-bedroom rent, the report says.
