Police, FBI Still Searching For Hudson Valley Man Wanted For Killing Daughter-In-Law
Although nearly 11 years have passed since the brutal murder of a Hudson Valley mother allegedly by her father-in-law, local police, the FBI, and the US Marshals Service have not given up the hunt for the man responsible.
The Town of Haverstraw Police Department said Tuesday, Aug. 29, that the department continues to investigate the whereabouts of former Rockland County resident Eugene Palmer, age 84, of Stony Point, who is wanted in connection with the murder of Tammy Palmer on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.

Estranged Wife Sues Former Podiatrist, Sister From Bedford For Alleged Murder-For-Hire Scheme
The wife of a once sought-after Hudson Valley podiatrist has sued her estranged husband and his sister for allegedly scheming to have her killed.
Rockland County resident Ira Bernstein, age 49, of Montebello, and Northern Westchester resident Jaclyn Goldberg, age 40, of Bedford, are being sued by Susan Bernstein, as they face criminal charges in the alleged plot.
This is the alleged second such plot the podiatrist has undertaken to kill his wife Susan Bernstein, of Sloatsburg, who filed the lawsuit on Thursday, July 27 in the New York State Supreme Court.

Man Charged With Shooting Of 2 Men At Hudson Valley Restaurant
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of two men inside an area restaurant.
The incident took place in Rockland County on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, in Haverstraw at the P&D Seafood restaurant at 9 Main St.
Haverstraw police responded to the area of 9 Main St., on a report of shots fired in the area, said Capt. John Gould Jr., of the Haverstraw Police.
During an investigation, it was determined that two men were shot inside the restaurant, Gould said.
An extensive investigation led police to Percy Ayers, age 38, of Nanuet, he added.

Hudson Valley Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Utility Pole, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed a vehicle into a utility pole, causing a fire on the road.
Officers in Rockland County responded to a fire on North Main Street in Hillcrest that broke out overnight between Friday, Nov. 18, and Saturday, Nov. 19, the Town of Ramapo Police Department reported.
Police found that a vehicle crashed into a utility pole, and a live wire caused a small fire on the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 35-year-old Haverstraw man, was the sole occupant, authorities said.

Man Shot, Killed At Home In Hudson Valley
A man was shot and killed during a dispute at a Hudson Valley home.
The incident took place in Rockland County around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17 in Stony Point on Mott Farm Road.
According to Lt. Greg Becker, of the Stony Point Police, Jason Colwell, age 47, of Garnerville, a hamlet of Haverstraw, was found dead from gunshot wounds.
The suspect, identified as Javier Medina Jr. age 21, of Stony Point, who lives at the home, remained at the scene and was transported to police headquarters for investigation, Becker said.

Two Hudson Valley men were indicted on charges stemming from a kidnapping and robbery at a motel in the region.
Rockland County residents Jonathan Abikzer, age 30, of Monsey, and Michael Galkovich, age 46, of New City, were charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree kidnapping in the incident that happened in Garnerville earlier this month, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh announced on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

A grand jury has indicted three Hudson Valley men in the fatal shooting of a beloved 17-year-old high school student.
Rockland County resident Treynahel Cineus, age 17, of Spring Valley, was found shot to death at around 2:30 a.m. on July 8, in a parking lot on West Eckerson Road.
Cineus, who was about to begin his senior year at Ramapo High School, later died at Good Samaritan Hospital, according to police.

Police have made in an arrest in the Hudson Valley murder of a 17-year-old who was gunned down in a parking lot.
Rockland County resident Treynahel Cineus, of Spring Valley, was found shot and killed around 2:30 a.m., Friday, July 8 in the parking lot of 150 West Eckerson Road in Spring Valley.
On Thursday, July 21, a Haverstraw man, identified as 23-year-old Anthony Mitchell, was arrested and charged with the crime, said Det. Matt Galli, of the Spring Valley Police.

65-Year-Old Found Guilty Of Sexually Abusing, Raping 15-Year-Old In Hudson Valley
A 65-year-old man was found guilty of raping a 15-year-old girl in the Hudson Valley.
Rockland County resident Jimmie Moore, of Haverstraw, was found guilty of third-degree rape, third-degree attempted rape, and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
The trial began on Monday, June 13, and ended on Monday, June 27, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh on Wednesday, June 29.
Investigators found that Moore sexually abused and raped the victim in Haverstraw from May 1, 2019, through July 20, 2019, the DA's Office reported.
