The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Sunday, June 13 the recall of 42,922 pounds of organic grass-fed ground beef produced by Lakeside Refrigerated Services, of Swedesboro, New Jersey. Washington Beef is recalling approximately 30,260 pounds of ground beef chub products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. 6.5 Million Pounds Of Ground Beef Recalled Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination A nationwide ground beef recall has been announced by the Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service. More than 6.5 million pounds of ground beef and other beef products from an Arizona plant could be contaminated with Salmonella, the department said. A total of 57 illnesses in 16 states have been reported linked to the JBS Tolleson Company. The beef was processed from late July to Sept. 7 and shipped to stores across the country prompting concern by health officials that people may still have some of the ground beef in their freezers. Ground Beef Recall Issued Due To Possible E. Coli Contamination Check your freezer. More than 132,000 pounds of ground beef products made from the chuck portion of the carcass has been recalled due to an E. coli outbreak,  the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced. One person has been killed and 17 sickened as a result of the outbreak. The beef was produced and packaged at Cargill Meat Solutions in Colorado on June 21 and shipped to retailers nationwide.
