Two Workers Injured After Torch Sparks Flash Fire At Metro-North Yard In Northern Westchester Two workers were injured when the torch they lit malfunctioned and caused a flash fire at a Northern Westchester railroad yard.  The incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 7 just before 9:45 a.m. at Metro-North's Croton-Harmon Railroad Yard in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department. The blaze happened when two workers lit a malfunctioning torch that caused a "brief but concussive flash fire," the department said.  The workers were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Large Three-Story Home Destroyed By Fire In Westchester A large three-story Westchester home was destroyed by an early-morning fire due to poor water pressure conditions. The fire took place around 12:58 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, when the Yonkers Fire Department responded to a call for a fire at the home located at 423 Odell Ave., in Yonkers.
