Man Wins $3 Million New York Lottery Scratch-Off Prize
A New York man has claimed a $3 million lottery prize.
George Nichols Jr., of the city of Elmira in Chemung County, claimed a top prize from the lottery's X Series: 50X scratch-off game, New York Lottery announced on Wednesday, May 18.
He received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $1,640,370 after required withholdings, NY Lottery said.
The ticket was purchased at Quick Stop Beverage & Grocery, which is located at 900 Broadway in Elmira, the lottery said.

Luke was born on August 14, 1949 in Edgewater, NJ, and raised in Franklin Square, Long Island and Croton-on-Hudson, NY. At Hendrick Hudson High School, Luke performed in several musicals and plays including “Oklahoma” and “Anastasia” and was cast as Buffalo Bill in “Annie Get Your Gun.” His passion for theater continued at Harpur College, Binghamton University where he majored in Cinema Arts. Sister Camille Marie Black, Maryknoll Sister For 74 Years, Dies
Sister Camille Marie Black, M.M. died on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Maryknoll Sisters Center in Maryknoll. She was 96 years old and had been a Maryknoll sister for 74 years.
She was born in Andover on Sept. 27, 1923, to Mildred (Hower) Black and Paul Black. She had one brother, Paul and one sister, Virginia; both of whom have predeceased her.
Camille Marie attended Dansville Central High School in Dansville, from 1935 through 1939. After graduating, she studied at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira from 1942 to 1945, where she earned an RN License.
