State Police Conduct Underage Drinking Initiative At 20 Northern Westchester Businesses Nearly two dozen area businesses were found to be in compliance during a New York State Police underage drinking initiative. On Saturday, Jan. 16, New York State Police investigators in Somers conducted an investigation into 20 area businesses, each of which was found to be in compliance when checked by undercover teens. This Black Bear Is Everywhere: Multiple Sightings Reported In Northern Westchester A black bear seems to be everywhere in North Salem and Purdys these days from the golf course to an elementary school and a resident's backyard. North Salem Police Chief Thomas Howley said the sightings began on Sunday, May 26, when a black bear was seen at the PQ Golf Club off Bloomer Road. State Police conducted plain-clothes checks of the retail locations in Westchester County that sell alcohol to ensure their compliance with New York State's Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Law on Friday, April 19. Four Westchester Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Stops Nearly two dozen allegedly impaired motorists were removed from the road by New York State Police troopers for alleged drunk driving in the area.
