Mother's Day Rescue: Ducklings Pulled From Storm Drain In Hudson Valley, Reunited With Mother Several ducklings were reunited with their mother just in time for Mother's Day after they were rescued from a storm drain in the Hudson Valley. Police in Rockland County reported that a resident saw a duck flying in circles around a storm drain on Riverside Drive in Suffern on the evening of Saturday, May 7, and he then found a group of ducklings trapped in the storm drain. Do You Know This Bird? Stray Parakeet Found In Westchester A stray parakeet found in Westchester is now being cared for at the New Rochelle Humane Society. The bird, a fluffy white budgie, was found on Irenhyl Avenue in Rye and taken to the Rye Brook Police Department Monday afternoon, June 10. Rye Police said on Tuesday, June 11 that the bird was in the possession of the shelter. Anyone who thinks they recognize the parakeet may call  914-632-2925. The bird "looks well cared for and appears to be in good shape," according to the New Rochelle Humane Society.
