Rollover Crash Victim From Westchester Rescued From Car, Then Nabbed For Drunk Driving: Police Several people were nabbed on drunk driving charges in the Hudson Valley over the holiday weekend, including a Westchester woman rescued from a rolled-over car and a taxi driver, police said. The arrests were announced by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Oct. 17, and were all made over Columbus Day weekend.  The first incident happened on Friday, Oct. 11 in Putnam Valley, when a car crashed and flipped on Church Road in the area of Kramers Pond Road.  Arriving sheriff's deputies found a vehicle on its side with downed live wires nearby. Woman Involved In Westchester Crash Drove Drunk With 9-Month-Old In Car, Police Say A woman was charged with felony DWI under Leandra's Law following a two-vehicle crash in Westchester. Sylvia Cortez, a 40-year-old resident of the Bronx, was arrested on Friday, June 19 by Village of Mamaroneck police following the crash which took place around 10:13 p.m. in the area of East Boston Post Road and North Barry Avenue. Upon interviewing Cortez, officers observed signs of alcohol intoxication and conducted a DWI investigation. Drunk Driver Crashes Into Truck In Construction Zone In Westchester, Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested for alleged DWI after crashing into the back of a construction vehicle in a work zone in Westchester.  Fabian Madera, age 43, of Shelton, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, after New York State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Mamaroneck, said Trooper Tara McCormick. A preliminary investigation revealed that Madera was driving a Toyota Camry northbound, approaching a lane closure in a work zone when he rear-ended a construction vehicle blocking the right lane, McCormick said. Man, 67, Busted For Felony DWI Following Single-Vehicle Crash In Westchester A 67-year-old man was arrested by state police for felony DWI following a single-vehicle crash in Westchester. Patrick R. Bridgewater, of the Bronx, was arrested around 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, in New Rochelle, said Trooper Tara McCormick. According to McCormick, the state police responded to a one-car property damage accident on I-95 in the city of New Rochelle.
