Morales has led the Foxes to a 6-1 record this season and has transitioned from a sixth man last year to a team leader this year.
He has been one of the most consistent players for the Foxes so far this year. He scored 18 points in a loss to Byram Hills and followed that up with a 16-point performance against Brewster.
Morales also helped lift Fox Lane to three consecutive narrow victories against Rye, Ossining and Horace Greeley. He scored 14, 19 and 11 points in those games, respectively. Fox Lane won each of those games by five points or less and did not eclipse 60 points in any of them.
Morales said he is thankful for his role as team captain and looked forward to a promising year.
“I’m just trying to be a leader out on the court, trying to get everybody together, communicate and just execute,” Morales said after the Foxes’ season-opening win against South Bronx. “We’re looking good.”
