Lavelanet Leads Purchase Women's Soccer to Win

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- It did not take Purchase freshman Nathalie Lavelanet long to make an impact in her college soccer debut.

Lavelanet, a 2011 John Jay-Cross River graduate, scored three minutes into the game, leading Purchase College's women's team to a 2-0 win over visiting City College of New York in the Panthers’ season-opener on Saturday. Abigail Katz assisted n Lavelanet’s first college goal and scored later in the first half, assisted by Ariel Dugan. Goalie Kristen Racaniello handled four shots to earn the shutout.
