YORKTOWN, N.Y. Brendan Kurpis scored a hat trick and Husked Corn rebounded from an early deficit to defeat Superstar 12-8 in Tuesdays Hudson Valley Lacrosse League Open Division title game.
Down 2-0 after the first five minutes of the game played at Legacy Fields, the winners rallied to a 7-4 halftime lead. Goaltender David Lui held off the quick-starting Superstar until the Corn offense could gain momentum.
Kevin Interlicchio also scored twice in the Husked Corn offensive outburst. Superstars Conor Prunty finished the night with a hat trick.
