Harvey's Basketball Teams Lose One, Win One

KATONAH, N.Y. -- The Harvey School’s boys basketball team lost its second game in a row Monday to the Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson by the score of 75-52.

Harvey’s girls varsity fared better Monday with a 26-10 home win over visiting Storm King as the Lady Cavaliers picked up their first win of the season after dropping their first two games.

In the boys game, Storm King scored many of its baskets on fastbreak opportunities. Harvey also turned the ball over 21 times.

Storm King had a 10-point lead at halftime and outscored Harvey in the second half by 13. The Cavaliers had a difficult time stopping Kenny Paramore who led all scorers with 30 points. It was a two-man wrecking crew as Storm King’s Eddie Romanik added18 of his own.

Harvey coach Dom Narcisco said Paramore and Romanik were tough to stop.

“They were a strong one-two punch that we had a difficult time with keeping them out of the paint,” Narcisco said.

Harvey freshman Evan Roteman had his best game so far in his young varsity career, scoring 17. Junior Austin Forman chipped in with 10. Senior Deshawn Hilliard collected nine rebounds.

Harvey, now 2-3, hosts defending HVAL Champions Chase who had knocked the Cavaliers out of the playoffs last year, defeating Harvey in the semi-finals of the HVAL tournament.

For the Harvey girls, sophomore Jaeden McKenzie led the way offensively with eight points and exercised solid ball handling.

Harvey's boys play Chase on Wednesday (home) as does the girls team (away).
