Harvey School Rugby Team Routs Long Island

KATONAH, N.Y. – Harvey School’s rugby teamrolled over the Long Island Under-19 Rugby Club, 44-14, for its first win of the season.

Harvey standouts included Christian Artuso, Christian Harrington, Sharif Koonce, Reed Feldman, Charlies Seider, Paul Stapleton and Buddy Rice.

Boys lacrosse: Harvey fell to 3-3 with a recent 18-6 loss to South Kent. Javen Stepp-Davis scored two goals for Harvey. Tom Gattuso, Harry Albert, Armando Vasquez and Connor Wilson also connected. Tyler Gadigian made 17 saves in goal.

Harvey also dropped an 18-11 decision to Forman. Wilson scored four goals, and Gattuso had three. Gadigian made 19 saves.

Girls lacrosse: Wooster School of Danbury edged Harvey, 10-6. Harvey also beat Forman, 13-3.

Against Wooster, Audrey Rowe and Abby Hassett connected for hat tricks.

In the win over Forman, Hassett scored four while Rowe and Brittany Smith had two each. Leila Zuaiter, Lily Brouwer, and Melissa Wyman also scored. The defense was led by junior Sammy Aloi and goalkeeper Ariana Weaver.

Softball: The Cavaliers erupted for seven runs in the final inning to pull out a 12-9 win over Darrow.

Erica Cheyne’s double, her second hit of the inning, drove home the winning run. Hanna Paul, Taylor Williams, Lily Alexander and Tessa Knorr got hits to fuel the winning rally. Samantha Panoff fanned 10 to get the win.

Baseball: Harvey fell to Greens Farms Academy of Westport, Conn., 5-4. Corey Eisenband went 4-for-4 for the Cavaliers.

Girls Tennis: Harvey lost to Chase Collegeiate, 6-1. Carly Kaplan picked up Harvey’s only win.

In another match against Chase, Harvey fell, 4-3, as winners included Kaplan, Ava Gurman and Helena Belloff.

Boys Tennis: Harvey edged Forman, 5-4, to avenge its only loss of the season. David Wiener, a seventh-grader, won a singles match and teamed with Harry Solomon for a doubles win. He was awarded the sportsmanship prize by the Forman team.

Harvey also picked up an 8-1 win over Wooster School of Danbury.
