Grippi, a 2009 Fox Lane graduate, won the 141-pound weight class at the Petrofes Invitational, hosted by Messiah (Pa.) College. Teammate and 2009 Ardsley graduate Derrick Longo won the 165-pound championship. Grippi, seeded second, won a decision over top-seeded Josh Malave of Mount Union, 3-1 in the final. This came after a 2-0 semi-final win over sixth-seeded Victor Bracey, also of Messiah.
