PORT CHESTER, N.Y. The Fox Lane High School baseball team bludgeoned Port Chester, 17-2, on Wednesday to at least partially remedy two issues the Foxes have had this season.
Firstly, they climbed to .500 on the road and are now 3-3 away from home this year. Secondly, the Foxes stopped their two-game skid and improved to 7-4 for the season.
Chris Tomassi went 4-for-4 with three RBI for Fox Lane, which scored five runs in the top of the first inning. The Foxes scored four in the third and four in the fourth, as well. Drew Fopeano went 3-for-5 with three RBI and Dion Austrie was 3-for-3 at the plate.
Port Chester will have a chance for revenge with a rematch Thursday at Fox Lane at 4:30 p.m.
