Fishkill Knocks Down Foxes at Memorial, 35-21

BEDFORD, N.Y. – The Fox Lane Football team hosted the John Jay East Fishkill Patriots on Thursday, but the Foxes were unable to survive a 21 point second half barrage by the Patriots, losing 35-21.

The Foxes found themselves down by a quick 14 points in the first quarter, but found their form in the second. Fox Lane running back Spencer Chernus scored twice, and both on long lasting runs.

The running back for the Foxes found the end zone on a 54-yard scamper, as well as one from 29 yards out.

“Spencer always plays 110 percent whether in games or in practice," said coach Steve Quinn after the game. “His effort was contagious then, that was an outstanding thing.”

With the score at halftime, 14-14, the Patriots used the break as a springboard. John Jay East Fishkill put up 21 points in the second half, highlighted by the ultimate game-winning touchdown run by Bobby Henderson with 7:44 left in the third quarter.

Fox Lane struck for one more touchdown, scoring in the fourth quarter on a short, fading pass play to Kevin Muller on the near side of the end zone.

The next game for the Fox Lane Football varsity squad will be next Friday against local rival John Jay Cross River.
