The Harvey School Honors Student Athletes Of The Month

KATONAH, N.Y. -- Christian Artuso of Pleasantville and Ariana Weaver of Elmsford were recently named The Harvey School’s “Student Athlete of the Month” for October.

Artuso, a senior captain on the varsity football team, has had multiple 100 yard games as both a kick returner and receiver. Artuso, who has earned a place on the Headmaster’s List for attaining at least a 3.7 grade-point average, is enrolled in two Advanced Placement courses and two honors classes. In addition to his leadership role on the football team, Artuso serves as the co-president of the Community Service Club.

Weaver is a key member of the school’s varsity volleyball team. A team leader in kills, aces and blocks, Weaver is a 2013 Western New England Class C All-Star. She earned a place on the honor roll for the fall term, takes three honors classes and serves as a class representative to the student council.

In considering the qualifications for the honor, Harvey Athletic Director Mark Brandon said, “Christian and Ariana both meet the criteria of excellence in the classroom and excellence in athletics.”
