Already a venue for many community arts organizations and local performing groups, The Walker Center will now host a variety of interviews and performances for the benefit of area residents with the hopes of becoming a community center that promotes the arts and arts education. Getting to Know Regis Philbin is the first of the series. Future dates will be announced.
Philbin's visit will be on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 3 p.m. in The Lasdon Theater at The Walker Center for the Arts on the Harvey campus.
The Harvey School Headmaster, Barry Fenstermacher and high school senior, Michael Goodkind of Bedford will conduct the interview, covering the popular TV personality’s early career on The Joey Bishop Show to his most recent triumph on Crowd Goes Wild for Fox Sports. In addition to his work as a talk show host, Philbin will also discuss his ventures in hosting game shows like Who Wants to be a Millionaire and the 2008 revival of Password.
Philbin has also nurtured a lifelong passion for music, often making singing a part of his public appearances.
