Fox Lane Students Display Work at Final Art Show

The love of all things art came across in the gallery of the final art projects on display in Fox Lane High School.

Intricate pictures hung in the hallway and delicate ceramic structures sat on display along the walls.

The names and works of more than a dozen art students were on hand to showcase what they had learned throughout their class.

“The first time I took ceramics was during sophomore year ,” Mary Grace Galterio said in the description that was printed alongside her work. “I immediately fell in love with it.”

Galterio said in her description that she gets inspiration from all over.

“Once I figure out what I’m doing and start the process of making the piece, I get really into it. I sketch it out on almost everything," Galterio said. "On all my math and social studies note you will find little teapots and weird sculptures, trees, and textures.”

Different photography techniques that students had mastered were also on display. One of those techniques used was called “negative sandwiches”. To accomplish this technique students must combine at least two negative images. When these two images are joined it creates a new reality in the photograph.
