BEDFORD, NYThe Bedford Central School District is gearing up for its third annual Were Listening event, the forum that allows for parents to come to the districts high school and voice their opinions on the school district as well as listen to information about it. The event will take place on Monday December 5th at 7:00 PM and Tuesday December 6th at 9:30 AM.
The school district will be open to hearing from participants about where it can improve the proposed budget and capital plan. This comes on the heels of the district-wide mail survey that was sent out asking for public opinion.
The intent of the meetings is to provide voice and language to the data and to hear what the participants think about challenges facing the school district, said Carole LaColla, the district clerk of BCSD.
According to LaColla, the district conducted 500 phone interviews asking about the school district, and over 600 people responded to the Internet survey.
The forums will take place at Fox Lane High School, with the December 5th section meeting in the cafeteria, and the December 6th section meeting in the Fox Lane HS Small Gym.
