A midnight patrol officer in Pelham spotted a brown 2014 Infiniti Q50 shortly before 5 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, with temporary out-of-state plates parked on Linden Avenue near the intersection of Central Avenue in Pelham.

According to police, the vehicle didn’t have overnight parking permission, which increased the officer’s suspicion. While surveilling the Infiniti, police said that the officer observed the driver committing several violations and proceeded to arrest him.

While in police custody, the driver - whose name has not been released by the Pelham Police Department - advised investigators that he was in possession of a semi-automatic handgun, which was immediately recovered.

Charges against the man are pending.
