Volunteers with the Bedford Hills Fire Department were dispatched to Bedford Road, where there were reports of a downed tree that struck a truck, with unspecified injuries, at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3.

Upon arrival, first responders stated that all of the passengers had been able to exit the vehicle, and they were waiting for paramedics to arrive. With an assist from the Town of Bedford Highway Department, the volunteers were able to remove the tree from the Bedford Landscaping and Gravel Truck and the New York State Department of Transportation was called to clear the scene.

The truck sustained severe cosmetic damage and the front windshield was shattered and the roof was partially caved in.

Officials said that one of the passengers was transported to an area hospital for treatment for minor injuries. The scene was eventually turned over to the Bedford Police Department and fire crews cleared the scene within a half hour.
