BEDFORD, N.Y. North Salem resident Linda L. Brown was charged with driving while intoxicated when she was stopped by a police officer on the Route 117 Bypass Road in Katonah on July 6.
Around 12 a.m., Brown, 52, was traveling north on Bedford Road in Bedford Hills and a Bedford police officer observed her car crossing the double yellow lines multiple times. The officer noticed that Brown was driving under the speed limit and appeared to be having trouble staying in her own lane, police said.
The officer stopped her car at the Route 117 bypass. According to police, Brown failed field sobriety tests and refused to take one of the tests. Taking into account the smell of alcohol on her breath and her failure of the test, police said, Brown was arrested and taken to Bedford Police headquarters.
Police said Brown also refused the Breathalyzer test at headquarters.
She was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and three traffic infractions: unsafe lane change, refusal of a pre-screening test and no/expired insurance.
Brown was released on $150 bail and is scheduled to return to Bedford Town Court on July 16.

Mahopac resident Lee K. Becker was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on July 5.
Becker, 44, was a passenger in a car that was stopped around 11:50 p.m. on Cross River Road in Katonah at a checkpoint being conducted by Bedford Police and New York State Police on Route 35 near exit 6 off Interstate 684 north.
Police said the man admitted he had been smoking marijuana and turned over six grams of marijuana to the officers.
Becker was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was released on his own recognizance and will return to Bedford Town Court on July 12.
