$24K Handbag Robbery Suspect Is Apprehended By Bedford Police

BEDFORD, N.Y. – A Brooklyn resident accused of stealing more than $24,000 of high-end handbags from a Bedford store was arrested at his home on Friday by Bedford police.

DeShawn Davis, 40, is the main suspect in the robbery of four handbags valued at $24,030 from a boutique along Route 117 on Aug. 19.

Davis was charged with third-degree grand larceny by police.

He is a suspect in other robberies in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

The four handbags have not yet been recovered.
