Sunshine Shakes off Storm Blues in Katonah

BEDFORD, N.Y. - People throughout Westchester were walking off the stress of being without power or water Monday.

Katonah Avenue was filled with people walking and going about life as if Tropical Storm Irene never happened.

“It is very stressful," said Judy Goodhue. "You have to keep laughing and stay cheerful."

It’s not easy though.  Not having the ability to do simple everyday things such as call a friend, make breakfast or even take a shower can be trying.

“It’s less stress out of the house.  [The kids] are tired of board games," said Alison Sahm of Katonah. "They miss their TV.”

They are one of the lucky families - they still have water.

Marsha Liebowitz of Bedford was trying to stay optimistic.

“You have to look at it like it’s temporary," she said.

All three agreed that Monday was too beautiful to spend indoors.

They all share a common theme.  You can’t stay in the house.  It’s too stressful.  They were out enjoying the beauty of the day.
