Six Days Later, Power Outages Linger for Thousands

Six days after a snow storm blanketed parts of the northeast causing widespread power outages and downed trees, nearly 6,000 residents in northern Westchester are still without power.

NYSEG said it has 6,597 residents still without power in Westchester as of noon Thursday. Of those, 3,992 of the customers without power are located in Northern Westchester. According to the NYSEG website, the estimated times of restoration vary between Thursday evening at 11 p.m. and Friday evening at 11:30 p.m. Below is a list of towns with lingering power outages and the number of homes in each community still without electricity.

- Bedford Hills: 5 out of 2,304

- Bedford: 621 out of 1,852

- Katonah: 832 out of 4,305

- Mt. Kisco: 32 out of 137

- Pound Ridge: 939 out of 2,384

- Somers: 17 out of 4,783

- North Salem: 182 out of 2,044

- Yorktown: 1,294 out of 7,551

For those customers with Con Edison, there are 4,301 still without electric power, out of a total of 348,198 customers. About 1,900 of those customers are within northern Westchester. The estimated time of power restoration for customers in these towns was listed as Friday at 11 p.m.

Cortlandt: 545 out of 12295

Croton: 168 out of 3629

Mt. Kisco: 69 out of 5075

Peekskill: 62 out of 10239

Yorktown: 829 out of 8173
