Severe Weather, Flooding Approaches Westchester

Heavy, severe thunderstorms and possible flooding are headed to Westchester County, Wednesday.

Small hail, winds up to 50 mph, lightning and rainfall rates of up to one inch per hour are expected to roll in with the storm, according to the National Weather Service.

Ponding of water on roads throughout the county and flooding in poor drainage areas could occur. Waterways such as the Bronx River, Saw Mill River and Hutchinson River parkways have been prone to flooding in past storms.

A chance of rain is in the forecast every day until Sunday throughout the county.
