Person Hit by Train at Crestwood Station

TUCKAHOE----An unidentified person either jumped or fell in front of a train at the Crestwood Train Station at approximately noon today.

Debra Barsha of Katonah said she was riding in the first car heading south to Grand Central Station when she felt and heard a thump. The train stopped a few feet later.

She said the passengers were told there was a switching problem.

"Everyone in the front car knew we had hit something. We heard it and we could feel it," she said.

Passengers stayed on the train for approximately 15 minutes when they were advised they would be switching trains.

MTA and local police, Eastchester Fire and EMS were on the scene. No information available on the victim.
