Locavores Rejoice: Croton Farmers Market Reopens

The Croton Farmers Market will begin its third year Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., rain and shine, and will run until 6:30 p.m. There will be many new vendors this year along with old favorites and even some local Croton vendors.

New vendors include Fishkill Farms, which offers everything from fresh cut flowers to rabbit meat, Grower’s Pride, offering fresh cut flowers, Our Daily Bread, featuring pies and pastries, and True Food, which creates a whole range of prepared foods.

Susan O’Keefe, of Baked By Susan in Croton, said she is “anxious to get back” to her customers. Baked By Susan offers a variety of brownies, cookies and cakes, which this year will be available at the market and by special order because of her new location on Grand Street. She continued that the Farmers’ Market “is a great place for people to get all their stuff in one place.”

The Croton Farmers Market will be open from June to November, and offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, cheese, meat, flowers, bread, pastries, and prepared foods—even a chutney specific vendor. Your favorite vendors will still be there from last year, some of the most memorable being Migliorelli and Doc Pickle LLC.
