Katonah Resident Heals 'With Love'

KATONAH, N.Y.  -- Gene Krackehl says he knew he had a gift for healing at an early age.

The Katonah resident claims he would send his positive energy to people over long distances and many of those people would experience some sort of positive benefit.

But how could a child explain these experience to his parents? What would people think of Krackehl after he told them that he was an empath with the ability to direct his energy to other people for the purpose of healing?

“I didn’t dare say anything unless I wanted to end up in a rubber room,” Krackehl said.

Nowadays, Krackehl has no trouble explaining what he does. With a client base that span the globe, a book released in 2005 titled “You Are The Healer: Discover Your Miraculous Potential to Heal Yourself & Others” and list of new age musical CDs, Krackehl has numerous ways of getting his message across.

“I have a safe and effective way to pump my energy into people and heal them,” he told The Daily Bedford.

Negative emotions such as grief, pain or fear can block seven key chakra points in the human body, according to Krackehl. Once those chakra points are blocked, the discomfort caused to the patient can manifest itself in a numbers ways.

For instance, he said, a blocked chakra point located near the stomach can manifest itself as some sort of abdominal pain or disease.

Krackehl said that the first part of his session with clients revolves finding out what issues bother them. He explained that sometimes it’s an emotion loss or something as serious as a past of sexual abuse.

“The most common thing is a broken heart,” Krackehl said.

Once Krackehl gets to the cause of the problem, he lays the patient down and begins pumping his energy into their body -- the key is to get rid of the negative energy and infuse the body with positive energy.

“You can’t leave the body with nothing,” Krackehl said. “Sometimes, people would rather hold onto that pain rather than being left with nothing. That’s why it’s important to replenish any energy that you force out.”

Before becoming a full-time spiritual healer, Krackehl worked for corporations such as Scholastic, NBC, Waldenbooks and General Foods. He was also an adjunct professor at New York Institute of Technology, Parsons School of Design/The New School, while frequently guest lecturing at School of Visual Arts and others.

Still, he performed distance healing anonymously, until the grind of the corporate world caught up to him.

“I just grew tired of corporate politics,” Krackehl said. “One day I had a trip to the emergency room with chest pains and that made realize what it was doing to me. It wasn’t the work. I still loved the work, but it was the people.”

Krackehl’s new career has taken him to Northern Westchester Hospital's Center for Health & Healing, where he worked for a period of time to talk to corporations, organizations, colleges, holistic centers and libraries.

Krackehl said he believes that his gift is something that can be shared and taught to other people and he outlines this in his book.

“Anyone can do what I do,” Krackehl said. “All you need is love and the desire to share that love with other people.”
