Kat-Lewisboro Schools Continue Closure Tuesday, Wednesday

LEWISBORO, N.Y.  – Katonah-Lewisboro schools will remain closed Tuesday, Nov. 1, and Wednesday, Nov. 2, due to power outages caused by the storm.

District Superintendent Dr. Paul Kreutzer said in addition to outages, district bus routes have been compromised as a result of many downed power lines in the area. He said the district is aware of and is addressing athletic conflicts and will make another announcement regarding alternate arrangements once more information becomes available.

District officials working in conjunction with the town, and are advising residents to treat downed power lines as though they are live and to be cautious. The town is also urging parents to avoid allowing their children to go trick-or-treating today because of the dangers caused by downed power lines, which are safety threats.

School officials said they hope to collaborate with the town and provide children with an opportunity to celebrate Halloween once the storm-related issues have been resolved.

The district will make another announcement on Wednesday at 4 p.m. regarding classes for Thursday.
