Jeweler Celebrates Five Years in Mount Kisco

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Wilson and Son Jewelers celebrated its fifth year in Mount Kisco on Saturday, holding a party in the newer of two locations in honor of the company’s longevity and reputation.

While the Mount Kisco branch has only been in existence for five years, the first location, which is located in Scarsdale, has been a Westchester staple for over 100 years. The Wilson family has been at the helm from the beginning, as the store has stood for its fourth generation.

Current president and part-owner Matt Wilson, who has lived in Westchester his entire life, knew the significance of opening a branch in such a central location.

“As a lifelong Westchester resident, you see Mount Kisco is really the shopping center of northern Westchester. There are a lot of national brands,” he said. “A lot of our Scarsdale customers have moved north over the years as well, and at the time, there wasn’t a true full-service luxury jeweler up here.”

Monique Shire Slap, manager of the Mount Kisco, said Mount Kisco and the surrounding communities have welcomed the store warmly.

“Northern Westchester needed a full-service jewelry store, a place you can come to do everything – from watch batteries to high-end diamond jewelry, and everything in between,” Shire Slap. “So that’s the niche that we’ve filled.”

Saturday’s celebration was not only for the store’s endurance, it was also for its philanthropy. A portion of the proceeds made by the anniversary party will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester for the purchase of new computers.
