MASSAPEQUA, L.I. -- Sam Speno won the 126-pound title and Fox Lane went on to a third-place finish in the Massapequa Wrestling Tournament, Thursday.
Fox Lane finished two points behind runner-up, Massapequa (147.5 to 145.5 points). Connetquot won the team title. Speno, who is undefeated on the season, was one of four Fox Lane finalists. Joining Speno in the finals were Tommy Grippi (138 pounds), Matt Pasqualini (160) and Danny Clune (220).
The Foxes had three third-place finishers -- Giancralo Morreale (145), Brandon Fay (99) and Andriy Lychuk (285). Danny Ventura (132) suffered his first two losses of the season and placed fourth. Speno, Morreale and Fay all had four wins in the tournament.
