Flash Flood Watch Is In Effect For Bedford

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — A Flash Flood Watch, issued by the National Weather Service, is in effect for Westchester County through Tuesday afternoon.

The watch, which went into effect 4 a.m. Tuesday, lasts through 4 p.m. 

Heavy rain that started in the pre-dawn hours could cause urban flooding along streets and low-lying areas, the weather service said. 

The showers and thunderstorms in the area could bring rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches, with some areas getting as much as 3 inches. 

Hourly rain rates could be up to 2 inches per hour, the weather service said. 

High temperatures will approach 77 degrees with a 100 percent chance of rain on Tuesday.

Showers are likely with a possible thunderstorm before midnight Tuesday night, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 3 a.m.
