Fire Dept. Parade, Carnival Kicks Off in Katonah

The Katonah Fire Department Carnival and parade kicks off Wednesday night and promises fun for all who come. The  yearly event acts as a major fundraiser for the town’s volunteer fire department. The parade will start at 7PM.

Local roads, including Bedford Road and Valley Road will be closed at 4PM for the parade.

Fire departments from all over Westchester County and Connecticut will also be involved in the festivities.

The carnival, which is located behind the fire house, will have a number of rides including a ferris wheel and merry-go-round. There will also be tents for games and food.

The fire department is offering a number of rides offered at a discount, Thursday night from 6PM to 10PM 1PM to 5PM on Saturday.

The carnival will be open for the remainder of the week and through the weekend. The tents will open the same time the parade starts and stay open till 10PM. On Thursday and Friday the carnival will open an hour earlier but still close at 10PM. Carnival enthusiasts can enjoy the carnival all day on Saturday when it opens at 1PM and doesn’t close until 11PM.

There is a slight chance of rain for Wednesday evening and updates on the parade status can be found on the Katonah Fire Department website starting at 4PM.
