Cops: Woman Stole From Three Katonah Businesses

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Bedford resident Jennifer H. Kramer, 26, was charged with larceny in connection with an April 3 incident that involved three Katonah stores, police said.

The Bedford Police were called to NoKa Joe’s coffee shop at 25 Katonah Ave. following a call that a woman had left the shop with items she had not paid for.

When officers arrived at the coffee shop, they were shown a bag the woman allegedly dropped. Police said the bag contained items from NoKa Joe’s and Sweetooth Katonah, a pastry shop.

Police found Kramer at Katonah Wines & Liquors at 120 Katonah Ave. and identified her as the woman described by coffee shop patrons. Police asked Kramer to leave the store, but she told them she wanted to make a purchase first.

While police were taking her into custody, Kramer physically resisted the officers. Police said that when they arrested her, they found a bottle of wine in her purse.

At the police station, Kramer pulled the cords out of a police computer that was near her chair, causing the computer to fall and break, police said. She was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, an A misdemeanor.

Kramer was also charged with three counts of petit larceny, one count of resisting arrest and three counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property (one count for each of the three stores), all A misdemeanors.

She was arraigned by Bedford Police and taken to the Westchester County Jail. Kramer is scheduled to appear in Bedford Town Court on Thursday, April 12.

The following item was also reported in the Bedford Police Blotter.

- Elva C. Ibanez, 29, of Maryland, N.Y. was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, an A misdemeanor, driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, leaving the scene of an auto accident (involving property), an infraction and refusing a pre-screening test, an infraction, police said.

On March 28, Bedford Police received a 1:19 a.m. call about a car driving erratically on South Bedford Road in Bedford Hills. Ibanez’s car was at a stop when officers approached it and smelled a strong scent of alcohol on Ibanez’s breath, police said. Ibanez told police that she knew she had been in an accident but did not know what she had hit.

Police determined that Ibanez had a hit a rock wall. Ibanez admitted to drinking in Mount Kisco, but refused to perform field sobriety tests, police said. Officers also said they found Ibanez in possession of a small amount of Xanax. Police transferred her to the station where she refused to take a Breathalyzer test. She was released on $500 bail and is due in Bedford Town Court on Thursday, April 12.
