Construction and Accidents Cause Road Closures

PELHAM, N.Y. – Active construction and accidents on several roads in Westchester County caused various closures throughout the day Friday.

An accident occurred on the New York State Thruway northbound at Exit 8/8A, I-287, shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to the New York State Thruway Authority.

An accident on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the southbound area of the NY 100 exit has blocked the right shoulder, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

The Saw Mill River Parkway experienced closures in several locations on Friday. Roadwork in both directions on from the Bronx-Westchester County Line to Exit 17, CR 134 in Greenburgh, closed the right lane and shoulder until 2 p.m.

Construction also closed the right shoulder northbound from Exit 26, Taconic State Parkway in Mount Pleasant, to Exit 30, CR 106, until 2:00 p.m.

Further roadwork on the Saw Mill River Parkway southbound at I-684 in Bedford closed various lanes until 3:30 p.m.

Construction on the Cross County Parkway in both directions from the start of the route in Yonkers to the end in Eastchester closed various lanes until 3 p.m.Roadwork on I-684 northbound from the start of the route to Exit 9A, I-287 in Harrison closed various lanes until 3:30 p.m.

Roadwork on the Sprain Brook Parkway in both directions from the Bronx River Parkway exit in Eastchester to the Dobbs Ferry Road exit in Greenburgh has closed the right lane and shoulder until 2:30 p.m.
