Katonah Arts Center Plans 'Chill Out' for Locals to Give Back

KATONAH, N.Y. — The Katonah Art Center is hoping to help you chill out in February when it hosts its first annual Chill Out Scholarship Fundraiser on Feb. 12. The proceeds of the event will go to the Katonah Art Center scholarship fund for underprivileged children.

Participants will have the ability to choose a pottery bowl, which is for his or her to keep and fill with either chili or macaroni and cheese. Loren Anderson, the founder and director of the center, said she is excited to see how the community will respond to the event.

“This is an easy and fun way to give back to the community,” Anderson said. “And it’s a great way to keep warm on a cold February evening. Personally, I’ll be having the chili and can’t wait to pick out a beautiful new bowl.”

The front lawn in front of the center will be turned into an igloo and ice sculpture garden with weather permitting, which will be filled with pieces made by both students and staff of the center.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will cost $15 for adults and $10 for children. If the day is filled with snow, the postponed date will be Feb. 18. For more information about the fundraiser, click here or call 914-232-4843.
