Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is proposing to transform garage space currently used for two out of six bays. The accessory apartment space would be designated for a caretaker.
The proposed studio apartment would be 538 square feet, out of the detached garage's 1,536, according to the submission, which adds that it was built in 1997.
The project requires a special permit from Bedford's Planning Board and a variance from the town's Zoning Board of Appeals, according to the submission. The Planning Board is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the permit application this Tuesday.
The estate is a little more than 13 acres and is owned through an entity called Casa Zeta, LLC, according to the submission.
Phillip Ceradini, a Mount Kisco architect, is listed as being involved with the project.
Zeta-Jones and her husband, fellow actor Michael Douglas, previously lived across town and acquired their current estate last fall, Daily Voice previously reported. Prior coverage can be read here.
