Buchanan Shines at 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade

BUCHANAN, N.Y. – For such a small village there was a big showing of Irish pride on display Sunday as waves of green-clad residents marched through the downtown of Buchanan.

The 2012 Buchanan St. Patrick's Day Parade included not just village residents but also participants from neighboring municipalities, such as Cortlandt and Peekskill.

This year's grand marshal was long-time firefighter and community volunteer Paul O'Brien, joined by aides Stuart Rickett, a dentist and community volunteer, and Adam McCauley, the owner of Go No Sen Karate & Kickboxing.  Past grand marshals and aides also participated in the parade, as did area Boy and Girl Scout troops and numerous other civil organizations.

The men were joined by elected council members from Buchanan and Cortlandt, as well as Westchester County Legislator John Testa (D-Peekskill).

We have 450 photos from Sunday's parade on The Daily Peekskill's Flickr page. You can also check out part two of our parade footage as well as footage from Peekskill's parade on our Youtube page.
