MOUNT KISCO, N.YThe alleged bank robber that struck the Mahopac National Bank in Mount Kisco in September might have visited the bank once again this week, according to Mount Kisco Chief of Police Steven Anderson.
At roughly 12:40 PM on Tuesday, a customer arrived at the bank and was thought to closely resemble the unknown robber that stole from the same bank location on September 6, at nearly the same time of day.
After making eye contact with one of the employees of the bank, the suspect fled from the scene without making demands or speaking with any employees. The employee noticed that the customer looked like the thief from more than three months earlier.
He was reported as being approximately six feet tall, despite being described at 56 by witnesses in September. He was wearing a navy blue jacket, white sneakers, blue jeans, an off-white baseball cap, and dark mirrored sunglasses, which closely resemble the attire that was reported by witnesses earlier in September.
According to Mount Kisco Police records, on September 6 at about 12:55 PM, the suspect handed a typed note to a bank teller that declared he was armed with a firearm and wanted cash. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the building without physically harming any bank employees. Witnesses did not see any weapons used.
On September 6, witnesses described the robber as a "male white, in his 40s, unshaven, and about 56. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing "khaki shorts and a navy blue windbreaker-type shirt, white baseball cap with gray/blue visor and sunglasses, and possibly light colored sneakers." According to police, the suspect walked northbound after leaving the bank in September.
