The fundraiser was intended to meet expenses not covered by Gallagher's insurance, TRUCK owner Nancy Roper said.
“Every little bit counts,” she said.
Gallagher's sister, Hayley, was a hostess at TRUCK for a year and a half, Roper said, and Gallagher worked at nearby Bedford Hardware.
“It’s a wonderful family and we just felt we had to do something, and the staff wanted to do something, I wanted to do something," she said.
Roper, who lives in New Canaan, Conn., said the fundraiser was held on a night when TRUCK is normally closed, calling it a “perfect venue to do something.”
In addition to food, TRUCK's fundraiser included a raffle with prizes such as tickets to a Giants' football game, a vacation, a painting and bottles of wine provided by local merchants. Bedford Hardware also donated a Weber grill as a prize.
