Self Love .
Are you the type to practice self-love or self-sabotage?
Self-Love would be my first and well only recommendation! If you chose self-love, you are on a very healthy path already. If you chose self-sabotage, that just means we have some work to do with you.
Just remember its all in the mind and the mind can be pretty brutal at times. When you find yourself falling into that self-sabotage pit, acknowledge it and immediately hit the stop button, basically cancel it out. Invalidate whatever negativity is going on in your head. Instead, relax, think of all the wonderful things going on in your life, give yourself praise and rise above any fears. In most cases, these fears stem from a lack of self-esteem and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Its a facet of life, and the true victory is when we can overcome our self-sabotage and turn it into self-love!
So many of us self-sabotage or self deprecate without even realizing were doing it. Our minds way of self-sabotaging can be so sadly overpowering to the point that it affects our health in such a poor manner. Without self-love, how are we able to better ourselves, how can we meet our goals and succumb to our true vitality? What we are basically doing with this is putting it out there to the Universe that we are unworthy or undeserving of any positive outcome in life. So, how then can we focus on our own health and happiness if we dont even respect who we are? The fortunate thing is that once you make this conscious effort to practice self-love, you CAN overcome this. Self-love will come naturally and so will that happier, healthier, more vibrant YOU!
If you are reading this and thinking to yourself I need to do this, I need to practice self-love, then you are in the right place. Here are just a few things you can do to get yourself started. Put these tips somewhere so you remember to do them everyday!
Acknowledge your senses - hear, feel, smell and see all the beauty that surrounds you. Notice the flowers, the breeze, and remember to look up to the sky every once in a while and bask in its beauty. Dont forget to be grateful you have the ability to feel these senses!
Put an end to self-criticizing - Dont berate yourself. When this happens, cancel it out of your mind and turn that thought into something positive about yourself, honor yourself in some way.
Be truthful to yourself - acknowledge the joy when youre happy, the sorrow when youre sad, and the anger when youre mad. When you truly acknowledge and accept your feelings, whether it good or bad, you face them and avoid burying any negative emotions that will ultimately resurface.
Forgive Yourself If youve made mistakes in the past or that make you feel unworthy, let it go! What is life without mistakes? Mistakes only bring us that much closer to the answer were looking for.
Practice Compassion - by becoming more peaceful, connected, kind, loving and compassionate, self-love will start to develop and grow naturally.
Dont compare you are your own authentic being and we were put on this earth to be different from one another. That, which makes us different, makes us genuine and beautiful.
Say Positive Affirmations Everyday reset your mind by saying positive affirmations everyday such as, I am my own unique self - special, creative and wonderful or I love and accept myself completely and unconditionally. Read them out loud to yourself. Place a note on your mirror if it helps to remember.
Practice Gratitude for the person you are, for your strengths and gifts, that you are alive and well, and fully capable of doing anything you set your mind to.
Have Fun - life is meant to be fun! Dont take life or yourself too seriously. Learn to laugh at yourself!
Nurture your body Your body is your home, and you should treat it with nothing but love, care and respect. Nurture your body with proper nutrition, exercise and hey, how about some self-love!
